Obama Spokesperson Responds To Claims
President Donald Trump escalated his attacks on former President Barack Obama on Tuesday, accusing him of treason and calling him the “ringleader” behind efforts to interfere in the 2016 election — a claim now colliding with new statements from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.
“Barack Hussein Obama is the ringleader,” Trump said. “Hillary Clinton was right there with him and so was Sleepy Joe Biden, and so were the rest of them — Comey, Clapper, the whole group. And they tried to rig an election and they got caught.”

The remarks came in response to a recently declassified set of documents released by Gabbard. But on Newsmax later that evening, Gabbard pushed back, announcing that another document release is coming Wednesday and suggesting it will directly contradict Trump’s explosive claim.
“We will be releasing further documents tomorrow that will refute that statement,” Gabbard said, referring to Trump’s assertion about Obama.

Gabbard explained that the next batch of records will include a wide range of statements from the Obama administration, Hillary Clinton, senior Democrats, and media outlets that reinforced the narrative crafted by the January 2017 intelligence assessment, which concluded Russia sought to help Trump defeat Clinton. “We will be pulling a whole host of statements … by their friends in the media that state over and over again, after this Jan. 2017 manufactured intelligence document was created, that repeat the narrative,” she said, citing examples from The New York Times and comments by Clinton herself, who repeatedly claimed she would have won the 2016 election if not for Russian interference.
Gabbard suggested these upcoming disclosures will shed new light on how the intelligence narrative was constructed and promoted after the 2017 assessment. “She has the documents. She has the receipts,” one source familiar with the matter said.
