RFK Jr. Releases Statement Following Review and Posts Video On Social Media

President Donald Trump’s Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., just went public with what he’s calling a hard truth: mRNA vaccines didn’t just fail to stop COVID-19 — they may have actually made the pandemic worse.
In a video posted by HHS on X, Kennedy laid it out with no sugarcoating. After reviewing 22 mRNA vaccine projects funded by BARDA — the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority — his department is pulling the plug. Why? Because, according to the data, these vaccines “fail to protect effectively against upper respiratory infections like COVID and flu.” But it goes deeper than that.

Kennedy explained that mRNA vaccines only target a “small part of the viral proteins, usually a single antigen.” That means the virus only has to make a small mutation to sidestep the vaccine — and that constant evasion doesn’t just fail to stop the virus, it encourages it to mutate. In plain English? Instead of ending the pandemic, the mRNA shots may have helped prolong it.
BARDA is now terminating all 22 contracts — worth just under $500 million — and shifting those funds to what Kennedy calls “safer, broader vaccine platforms that remain effective even as viruses mutate.” The goal? Vaccines that actually keep working when viruses change — something mRNA simply hasn’t delivered.
This is a huge pivot from the government line we were fed for years — that these shots were the ultimate solution to COVID. Kennedy’s announcement is basically an admission that the promises didn’t match the science. And coming from the same government that once demanded people get these shots to work, travel, and go about their lives? That’s massive.
And it’s not happening in a vacuum. Remember, shortly after President Trump returned to office, the White House updated Covid.gov to declare — in bold letters — that the pandemic was caused by a lab leak. That’s right, the very thing “conspiracy theorists” were mocked for saying is now the official line.
As Kennedy put it, HHS is “moving past mRNA vaccines to something that works better.” Translation? The so-called cutting-edge solution wasn’t the solution at all.
