Trump Team Looks Into Report From Local News Station
A strange mystery unfolded at a Donald Trump rally in Tucson last week, leaving several attendees with unexplained eye injuries. Among those affected was Mayra Rodriguez, a prominent figure in Republican circles and a former Planned Parenthood whistleblower.
She was seated behind the former president during his speech at the Ronstadt Music Hall, and shortly after leaving the venue, she began experiencing severe eye irritation.
Rodriguez initially thought her symptoms were caused by allergies, but her condition worsened during her drive home to Phoenix. She eventually sought emergency medical care. “As soon as we left and we stepped outside, my eyes were burning,” Rodriguez told News 4 Tucson. By the time she reached the ER, her vision was nearly gone, and medical staff suggested she might have been sprayed with something, though no definitive cause was identified.
Rodriguez wasn't alone in her ordeal. Others seated near her also reported similar symptoms, including severe eye irritation, watering eyes, and facial discomfort. One woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said her eyes became increasingly irritated and her neck began to feel like it was "on fire." Her brother echoed the severity of the symptoms, describing the pain as "unbearable."
Despite the seriousness of the injuries, the cause remains unknown. The U.S. Secret Service, which was present at the rally, said it was unaware of any threats but noted there was no danger posed to former President Trump.
Rodriguez, along with other affected rallygoers, expressed confusion as to why only the group seated directly behind Trump experienced these symptoms, raising questions about whether something specific targeted that area of the venue.
The Trump campaign has acknowledged the situation, issuing a statement saying they are investigating the incident, but no further explanation has been provided. Meanwhile, as Rodriguez’s vision begins to recover, the strange and unexplained injuries continue to be a point of concern, with rally attendees seeking answers as to what exactly happened that day.
This bizarre incident comes amid heightened security concerns, as just days later an alleged gunman was apprehended at Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida.
While unrelated, the two events have drawn attention to safety and security measures surrounding high-profile political figures and their supporters. For now, the mystery of what caused these painful eye injuries remains unsolved.
