Utah Police Arrest Motorist After Allegedly Trying To Drive Vehicle Off The Road
A high-speed, high-drama incident on Utah’s Interstate 80 has left authorities—and stunned witnesses—grappling with a bizarre and dangerous case of road rage that nearly turned deadly. It all centers on 27-year-old Oscar Fayani, who now faces a string of serious charges after allegedly attempting to run a Tesla off the freeway while barreling down the road at speeds reaching 120 mph.
According to Utah Highway Patrol and multiple witness accounts, the confrontation unfolded near Tooele, about 40 miles southwest of Salt Lake City. Troopers received multiple reports of a gold sedan aggressively tailing and ramming a black Tesla, with one caller describing it simply as "road raging." But this wasn’t a case of honking or cutting someone off—it was a dangerous, deliberate attack that escalated far beyond normal reckless driving.
The Tesla driver told police that Fayani's vehicle intentionally rammed into him, forcing evasive maneuvers and sending both drivers into a high-speed cat-and-mouse chase.
The Tesla driver attempted to shake the sedan by exiting the freeway, waiting a few minutes, and then reentering—but to his shock, the gold car was waiting for him. The implication? This wasn’t a spontaneous spat—it may have been a targeted pursuit.
Witnesses confirmed the escalating aggression, with the gold sedan allegedly swerving into other lanes, cutting off drivers, and nearly causing several collisions. The entire encounter painted a terrifying picture of a motorist seemingly unhinged, weaving through traffic at triple-digit speeds with no regard for human life.
When troopers finally stopped the gold sedan, the situation became even more concerning. Fayani’s driver’s license was suspended, and officers found what appeared to be drug paraphernalia, including two baggies with white residue suspected to be meth or cocaine, and a joint roller in the center console.
The presence of drugs, coupled with Fayani’s erratic behavior, raises the possibility of impairment during the incident, a factor that could significantly elevate the legal stakes.
Fayani was booked into Tooele County Jail and is now under investigation for a laundry list of charges, including:
-
Aggravated assault
-
Reckless driving
-
Driving on a suspended license
-
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Each of these charges could carry road rage penalty enhancements if prosecutors choose to pursue that avenue—and if convicted, Fayani could be facing serious prison time.
