Biden Takes Photos While In Pennsylvania On 9/11
Well, it looks like President Biden had quite the encounter during his visit to a Pennsylvania firehouse this week.
The 81-year-old commander-in-chief found himself in an awkward photo op, surrounded by a group of kids—many of whom were proudly sporting pro-Trump gear. The scene, captured and shared on X by conservative influencer Benny Johnson, showed Biden in the midst of about 16 youngsters, several donning shirts emblazoned with Donald Trump’s face and slogans like “I’ll be back,” a clear nod to the former president’s 2024 ambitions.
In the photo, Biden didn’t exactly look thrilled. Standing uncomfortably in the center, he appeared somewhat out of place amidst a sea of pro-Trump apparel, and one particularly unimpressed teen standing off to his right made sure not to crack a smile.
It wasn’t exactly the warm reception Biden might have expected during his visit to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks at the Shanksville firehouse.
But that wasn’t the only moment that raised eyebrows. At one point during the visit, a man handed the president a bright red “Trump 2024” hat. Biden, ever the politician, briefly put the hat on, grinned, and quickly handed it back. It was an unusual, lighthearted gesture in a place like Shanksville—a deep-red area of Pennsylvania where Trump won over 77% of the vote in the 2020 election.
The president had come to honor the victims of United Flight 93, which crashed near Shanksville after brave passengers attempted to regain control from the al-Qaeda hijackers. Biden brought beer and pizza to the firehouse as a gesture of thanks to the local firefighters, following a wreath-laying ceremony at the crash memorial.
While the moment was meant to be solemn, the Trump-supporting crowd provided an odd contrast to Biden’s presence. Shanksville, nestled in Somerset County, is a stronghold for Trump loyalists, and the sight of Biden posing with children proudly showing off their Trump gear highlighted the ongoing political divide—even in moments of national reflection.
It’s another example of just how deeply entrenched political allegiances have become, even in what should be neutral settings.
Whether Biden saw it as a lighthearted moment or a subtle jab, it’s clear that, in places like Shanksville, Trump’s presence still looms large.
