Jeffries Releases Video About Efforts In The House
Democrats are now reaping the consequences of their own missteps. After suffering a decisive defeat to President Donald Trump and the Republican Party in November, they’ve been left with no power, no direction, and no coherent strategy to regain their footing. The American people didn’t just vote them out—they overwhelmingly rejected their policies, their messaging, and their leadership.
But rather than learning from their mistakes, Democrats are doubling down on the same tired rhetoric. The cries of “Trump is Hitler” and “Democracy is at stake” are ringing hollow, especially now that the people have spoken and handed Republicans complete control. Their messaging isn’t winning over new voters—it’s only stoking the fury of their own leftist base, who are left wondering why their leaders aren’t doing anything to stop the supposed “end of democracy” they keep warning about.
Instead of engaging in meaningful opposition or working across the aisle to actually help Americans, Democrat leaders are producing performative, unserious videos meant to look like they’re doing something while accomplishing nothing. Take House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), for example, who recently made a bizarre claim: “We have the Republicans on the run.”
Now, let’s take a step back. How, exactly, do the Democrats have anyone on the run? They lost—badly. They were voted out of power at every level. The American people rejected them, yet here’s Jeffries trying to rally his demoralized party with what can only be described as pure delusion.
He then lays out three key “points” to justify his claim, none of which hold up under even the slightest scrutiny:
1. “Trump and the Republicans are crashing the economy.”
Reality check: Trump and the GOP have been in office for just over a month. They inherited an economic disaster created by Joe Biden—rampant inflation, skyrocketing national debt, and a struggling middle class. If anything, they’re working to undo the damage the Democrats inflicted over the last four years. But Jeffries hopes that if he just repeats the lie enough times, people will believe it.
2. “We have them on the run in terms of healthcare.”
Jeffries claims Republicans want to make the “largest cut to Medicaid in American history.” No such proposal exists. This is pure fiction designed to scare voters and distract from the actual healthcare disaster under Democratic leadership—rising insurance premiums, a crumbling Obamacare system, and worsening care options. If Democrats truly cared about healthcare, they had plenty of time to fix it when they had power. They didn’t.
3. “The GOP tax scam.”
This is just an extension of the Medicaid falsehood, mixed with fearmongering about Social Security. The reality? Trump’s tax cuts helped millions of Americans, putting more money back into their pockets. The real tax scam is the Democrat plan—higher taxes, more government spending, and continued financial strain on working families.
Beyond his weak talking points, Jeffries is struggling to hold his party together. His leadership has been ineffective, and even his own members are openly defying him. He tried to prevent Democrats from making a scene at Trump’s Joint Address, yet they did it anyway. If he can’t even control his own caucus, how is he supposed to lead the opposition?
Yet, despite all of this, Jeffries still declares, “We have them on the run, and we’re going to keep our foot on the gas pedal.”
The only problem? That gas pedal is taking the Democratic Party straight off a cliff.
